CLASSMATE’S POST

I think there is a lot of reasons a team could fail. My initial thoughts right off is that certain team members pair up and the larger team breaks into smaller teams naturally. A team could not have a strong enough leader or a leader that is not trained to see when the team members are isolating other team members. Certain team members could not be team players and those attitudes can affect other team members and effect the overall teams’ cohesiveness. The reasons a team could fail are infinite that is why it takes a leader to watch out for signs of weakness and address them before the team fails. It takes a leader to give pep talks and to encourage the team to stick together and help each other. I used to run a comedy improvisation troop that I was ill prepared for other than I wanted to run one and I had done some improvisation in the past. I was 19 years old and I gave up easily in life tasks. I gave up on the team and the reason it failed was lack of structure and then the leader gave up. I do not really regret it, but I did give up on it. The leader must be all in, and the team players should be committed also and if they are good team players they will be. It is a unique challenge when you have a teammate, they do not want to be a team player. Usually, it is a personal reason or a perceived perception that the other teammates do not like them for whatever reason. Usually, if you ask them that you have noticed a difference and ask them why and if they are ok it can make the world of a difference. Empathy goes a long way especially if you are leading a team.
